The Laboratory and Blood Bank at Mimbres Memorial Hospital provides full-service, acute care laboratory, pathology, and tranfusion services to inpatients and outpatients. Our team consists of medical technologists and laboratory assistants. Laboratory services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Advanced technology allows for rapid turnaround of a variety of tests. Since 80 percent of all medical diagnoses involve some type of lab testing, it is the department's goal to ensure the patient feels confident in the abilities of our staff and the time frame in which he or she receives the test results. The MMH Laboratory performs 67,000 procedures for inpatients and 75,000 procedures for outpatients a year. Our blood bank holds a minimum of 82 units of blood and components at any given time.
